Cleaned up that shop from last night a little. Looks pretty good I think.

So 2 door SUVs are better.

This would be rad with sliding rear windows. As cool as the ambulance doors look, split gate is the best thing to happen to the rear of an SUV.

well they are 2 doorier. I was thinking about whether or not I would want to actually own this last night and I came to the conclusion that no, I don’t. Would have been a cool option though.

yes split gate best gate. I could put the sliders in but I thought a big single pane was most like the broco I was aiming for. Its like a RAV4 bronco.

You don’t need four doors, right?
But this does look pretty cool...

Looks good. I miss the Isuzu brick, aka trooper II.

Its a whatif. If I had the choice I’d still buy the 4 door, but its interesting to see what could have been.

For anyone who would be interested in such a creature, it won’t be long before you can import a Y61 - a vehicle that I would argue is just as capable as a J80.

In an alternate universe, that would be an almost direct competitor to this (except price among other things). When I had one of these Tahoes, I was planning on building it up in the 80 series style. I wish I never had sold it.

Or if you are feeling a little more saucy, a Patrol Pickup
The axles on the Y61 and the TB48 engine were gold. If I couldn’t have an 80 series it would be a y61

The picture appeared on my end, but here’s “this” in question.

yup. Same kinda idea. I had a friends dad who had one. I remember riding in it for scouts and thinking, even then, “why does this only have 2 doors?”
Huge vehicle for having to tilt the front seats to get in. they are lookers though.

Yeah it is a pretty weird 4x4 to have only two (massive) doors, but I guess it lent itself well to the towing crowd. I think thats why all of the very nice two door models are owned by older people with boats/trailers. I really wanted to have a fold out sleeping area in the back and make a self contained camper with all of the space. Since I had the barn-doors I thought it would be nice to rig a door latch to the inside since they could only be open from the outside.
